About the Author

Bill Mauldin was born in New Mexico in 1921. He was drafted into the Army in 1940 and served in Europe during World War II. Mauldin's cartoons about the war were widely published and won him a Pulitzer Prize in 1945. After the war, Mauldin continued to draw cartoons and write books about his experiences.
