In the annals of World War II, there are countless stories of heroism, sacrifice, and survival. But few are as harrowing as the true story of Captain Charles Hazlehurst, a young American pilot who was attacked by a tiger in the jungles of Burma.

Hazlehurst was flying a routine mission over Burma when his plane was shot down. He managed to bail out, but landed in a dense jungle, far from any help. As he stumbled through the undergrowth, he suddenly came face-to-face with a Bengal tiger.

The tiger charged, and Hazlehurst was knocked to the ground. The tiger's claws raked across his face and chest, and its fangs pierced his leg. Hazlehurst fought back with all his might, but the tiger was too powerful. He was sure he was going to die.

But then, something miraculous happened. The tiger suddenly turned and ran away. Hazlehurst was stunned. He had no idea why the tiger had spared his life.

Hazlehurst eventually made his way back to civilization, but he was forever changed by his experience. He wrote a book about his ordeal, called Tiger Attack at Moulmein, which became a bestseller.

Tiger Attack at Moulmein is a gripping and inspiring story of survival against all odds. It is a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome even the most daunting challenges.

The Tiger Attack

The tiger attack occurred on January 24, 1943. Hazlehurst was flying a P-40 Warhawk over Burma when his plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire. He managed to bail out, but his parachute was damaged and he landed hard in the jungle.

The Aftermath

Hazlehurst eventually made his way back to civilization, but he was forever changed by his experience. He wrote a book about his ordeal, called Tiger Attack at Moulmein, which became a bestseller.

Tiger Attack at Moulmein is a gripping and inspiring story of survival against all odds. It is a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome even the most daunting challenges.

Legacy

Hazlehurst's story has been told and retold for decades. It has been featured in books, articles, and documentaries. In 2004, a movie was made about his experience, called The Tiger's Prey.

Hazlehurst's story is a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope. It is a story that will continue to inspire people for generations to come.
