But one day, everything changed. I was riding in a backcountry competition when I hit a jump and landed awkwardly. I felt a sharp pain in my knee and knew that I had done something serious.

I was airlifted to the hospital and underwent surgery. The doctor told me that I had torn my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and my medial collateral ligament (MCL). He said that I would need to have reconstructive surgery and that I would be out for the rest of the season.

I was devastated. I had worked so hard to get to where I was, and now it all felt like it was slipping away.

But I wasn't going to give up. I had faith that I would be able to come back from this injury. I had the support of my family and friends. And I had a fighting spirit that wouldn't let me quit.

I spent the next few months rehabbing my knee. I worked hard every day, and I slowly but surely started to get stronger.

In the spring of 2017, I was finally able to get back on the board. It was a surreal feeling. I had been through so much, but I had finally made it back to where I wanted to be.

I'm so grateful for the faith, family, and fighting spirit that helped me to get back on the board. I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without them.

My story is a reminder that anything is possible if you never give up on your dreams. No matter what challenges you face, you can overcome them with faith, family, and fighting spirit.
