The gardens feature a variety of plants and flowers, including roses, lilies, and azaleas. Visitors can stroll through the gardens, relax by the fountain, or enjoy a picnic on the lawn.
A fascinating history
The Eaton family was one of Canada's most prominent families. Timothy Eaton, the patriarch of the family, founded the Eaton's department store chain in 1869. The Eaton family lived in Eaton Hall for over 50 years, and they hosted many notable guests, including the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). In 1972, the Eaton family donated Eaton Hall to the Ontario Heritage Foundation. The hall was restored and opened to the public in 1983.
